The City of Salida is exploring whether increasing the capacity of the river park and river corridor to safely accommodate more visitors might yield job growth.
The County, in partnership with the City of Salida and the Town of Buena Vista, is applying for a grant from the State’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) to improve the river corridor and boat ramp area to allow for more visitors in the area. The grant asks how the improvement project would increase workforce and employment opportunities in the community as well as if the project is supported by a variety of stakeholders.
The proposed project would increase the carrying capacity of the river corridor by approximately 50 people on any given day.
