Get ready for another dollar store in Owensboro. Building permits have been issued to Dollar Tree for a location on the south end of Frederica Street near Target.
According to the permits, the Dollar Tree will remodal the existing building at 5221 Frederica Street. That building used to house Lifeway Christian Store and Pier 1 Imports, which permanently closed in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The total building area includes nearly 15,500 square feet. According to the building permit, the remodel will cost just more than $382,000. The building permit was issued to Viper Construction.
Dollar Tree already has three locations in Owensboro: 3980 Frederica Street (in the Sherwood Plaza Shopping Center near the bypass); 1761 West Parrish Avenue (near Owensboro Catholic High School); and 3500 Villa Point Drive (just off KY 54).
