Lafayette passes economic, housing strategic plan – Boulder Daily Camera

Lafayette City Council unanimously approved the economic development and housing strategic plan during Tuesday’s meeting.

Council voted 7-0 with implementation of the plan scheduled to begin soon.

Principal Planner Phil Kleisler said that the plan includes long-term and short-term goals to create a more resilient and sustainable economy, so that people of all backgrounds can live and work in Lafayette. Kleisler said that by analyzing the socioeconomic condition and housing market, city staff and council can move toward helping residents.

Director of Economic Development Brigid Keating said that the economic development part of the plan looks at industry sectors, changing markets and community character. She said that the plan takes a wider approach to development, as the economy and residents are so closely intertwined.
