Developmental Disabilities Institute recently named Kim M. Kubasek chief executive officer of the Smithtown-based nonprofit that provides special education and therapeutic intervention services for adults and children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
She previously served as DDI’s chief operating officer since joining the organization in 2010. She replaces longtime DDI CEO, John Lessard, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Kubasek’s professional career includes 17 years in healthcare administration, during which she served as vice president of administration at both Staten Island University Hospital and St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. She later joined United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island based in Hauppauge as chief operating officer — a position she held for six years.
